D16Z6 Replacement
Hi all,
over the weekend end my bottom end on my D16Z6 let go and put a conrod through the block, Now, I'm having problems finding a replacement Z6 and my local jap spares have offered me a D16Y3 motor, for a respectable price. I don't have the cash flow at the moment to perform a D-B series swap as I have an auto box I need to swap out to do the swap, So I'm hoping that you guys can tell me whether The Y3 motor will be swappable.
Cheers

Any D series block should be replaceable. Is the head in good shape? In that case you can just use your old head and just look for a used block at a yard or parts dealer.

just so you know, the D16Y3 is a step down from the D16Z6. If you are having problems finding a motor, go to http://www.hmotorsonline.com/ and look there. They offer the JDM D15B which 127hp, single cam vtec motor. but your best bet would be to call them and see if they have your motor (d16z6), the d16y8 (99-00 motor) or just buy the D15B - any one of those 3 will be pretty much the same. they are decently priced, not too expensive. if you go this route, get the motor with a LSD (Limited Slip Differential) transmission.
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30021 - thats a link directly to the D series motor they have on their website, but call and ask if they have the other 2 that i mentioned. good luck
