Jefferson Circuit vs. my brake pads. And the winner is...
Jefferson Circuit, of course. Once again, a set of pads feels the wrath of the road racing gods.

Maybe this would explain why my brakes felt like *** at the end of the day.
They were Carbotech Panther Pluses, and had seen 5 track events before giving up today. I have a set of XPs in the box ready to avenge their fallen comrades.
Edit: I wish I had taken a pic with them next to a new set. This shot doesn't really do them justice.

that's nothing ask george about the set I have with bent backing plates, and a hole you can see through. Still went 1:01 on the JC with them. Yes, that's right P+'s work all the way to the backing plates
Glad you had fun David

"scored" was a bit of an understatement. He had deep groves (at least a half dozen of 'em) all the way around the rotor, both sides. And the passenger side was cracked from the top almost to the rotor hat. He sez he wore out a set of XP's just this weekend... ouch.
You did better than I, Dave. I managed only 3 events with the Panther + pads and yes, JC was tough on the brakes. You need to come down to CMP next month!
Ahhhh, the smell...
Jason-
who enjoyed the JC, but glad he drove it just one day

How Many Hyper-Type R's where there @ Hyper-JC on saturday, from the Hyper-Control Tower I could see what look like about 7 or so Hyper-Type R's in Hyper-Yellow in Hyper-Black.
P.S. I think I am Hyper-Insane now.

I found the JC to be one of the hardest tracks on brakes. It is short and not terribly fast but you use them a lot and they don't have time to cool off.
6 events on 1 set?? Umm, that's good value.
Hardest tracks in the south on brakes:
1)CMP
very close 2nd) VIR-south
3) JC
In 25+ events, the only brake problems I've ever had have been at these 3 tracks.

Went to lunch jumped in the HYPER-Del Sol brake light was on.... Pedal Was fine... Jumped back out check Fluid Level.... down on the min. line... guess I hyper-boiled it out in my little 10 to 15 lap sprint on the hyper-JC?

2) You still have the terrible OE brakes
3) This will continue to happen until you:
4) Slow the f$%k down, or
5) Invest in some NX brakes
Matt, who solved this problem on his SE-R, and did not slow the f$%k down in the process....
Edit: 4 weekends (1 at CMP, 1 at VIR south) on my P+ pads, and still have a day somewhere left in them. 11 weekends on rotors. Big(ger) brakes own.

6) Route rotor-saving air to hat. (Plus, it's legal.
) Andy - who didn't get his yummy RE71s this weekend but hopes to next.

Route rotor-saving air to hat. (Plus, it's legal.)
Matt, who at on time attempted to route rotor saving air to hat and still burned through brakes like Shultz burns through Hoosiers.
