k20a/k20a1 is the type r motor
-(except for ep3 R, the motor's the same thing as our k20a2)
k20a2 is the type s motor
k20a3 is the ep3 motor
k20z1 is the 05/06 type s motor

That's not correct. The Japanese EP3-R gets the K20A as well. The European EP3-R is the one that gets the K20A2.

Came out of an ep3 that got rear ended pretty bad and insurance company declaired it totaled. The car was his brother inlaws so he just bought it back from the insurance company from him for a good price. Its ethier that or an H2B. But im not sure how easy the K swap will be, seeling as though i need k pro dont i? What do you guys think i should do?

no **** for 800 dollars i would be all over that with the quikness! and in a teg the install isnt that hard from what ive seen. besides for the price ur payin for the swap ull have that motor built installed tuned with k pro for less then the cost of a k20a lol not to mention that **** is baller!

have you actually done any research? putting a K in a teg isnt cheap your looking at some cash if you wanted to do it a little cheaper i would put the A3 in there just so its swapped and later when you have more cash buy either an A2 or Z1.

What's wrong with your stock B18c1 motor? I'd much rather have than than the expense of putting in a K20a3.

Sometimes you just need to pass a deal up as it isn't any better than what you already have.

It would probably be cheaper to rebuild the B18c1 the right way, and in the end you'd have a much faster motor.

OK, price out the cost of the a3 + cost of the parts to do the swap + cost of the turbo kit. Not to mention the time getting it all to work correctly.

a3 still such a good deal?

I agree. Not worth the time, effort nor money for the a3 given he has a B18C1 already.
