b18b into 97 civic EX
Hey guys just did my first swap with the help of some friends. Decided to do a write up, maybe this will help some people. I have a 1997 honda civic ex. I decided it was time to get rid of the single cam. I went with a b18b because it is cheap and easy to do. I also used the stock wiring harness.
Parts that I needed to do my swap.
*Motor
*Transmission
*Alternator
*Starter
*B16 header
*Distributor
*Mounts
*Throw out Bearing
*Half Shaft
*Radiator
*ECU
*Clutch Flywheel
*Shift linkage (B series)
*Axles
*LS throttle cable
*Radiator Hoses
*Bolts for shift linkage
*Bolts for Half shaft
Oil *
Spark plugs*
Manual transmission fluid*
Spark plug wires*
Antifreeze *
Plugs*
I bought a 00 SI OEM header because it will bolt right up to the rest of your exhaust. I was also told to buy a new throw out bearing because they do go bad, and it is easy to replace when you have everything out of the car. It was a little under $60. I bought a new radiator and hoses from an 00 SI because the stock D series hoses do not fit on the b18 easily. Axels also came from an 00 SI.
Since I bought all my stuff in pieces I used the bolts from my d-series, like the tranny bolts, starter, distributor etc.
So far very happy with the swap, just trying to get some miles on it right now before I really drive it hard. If you have any questions I can try to answer them. Good luck

Getting ready to do this swap too..
I am also swapping the B18b into a 97 Civic Ex
My question is do i use the integra hoses for the radiator or the civic si?
If i want to keep the AC what do i need for that?
Is there a book I can buy to help me with all of this?
