so my friend wants me to buy his blue 03 gsxr 750 off him. the bike is perfect, never been down or even sratched anywhere. it has a power commander, hindle exhaust, rear seat cover, stainless lines, newer brakes, newer tires, tinted screen. i think it has around 20k miles and hes asking for $4850. what do you guys think about this price? btw ive rode the bike several times it mechanically flawless. TIA

 

The milage is iffy, but that sounds like a decent price. Throw out $4,500.

 

I would offer him $4,500 as well. No more than that.

3 generations old and 20k miles...no way i'd pay anything close to 4800. or 4500. or even 4200. it'd have to be CLEAN for me to feel ok about paying 4000 for it.

 

$4500ish would be fair. for maybe around $500-700 more you could score a k5 gsxr.

 

ok ok update guys talked to my buddy again. bike has 15k and hes throwing in a blue scorpion helmet(my size) and the pitbull stand, still not worth 4800?

Nope... you can score a pitbull for just above a bill, and you can score a scorpion for less than two--

--on top of that, helmet resale value is pretty bad

04/05 yes it'd be worth 4800.

but the 03, you'd be hardpressed to move for anywhere close to that price imo. as a seller, 4800 is a place to start, but in your own mind you KNOW you're going to get less than 4 for it.
