Default Brake Grinding

I have a 07 si sedan and the other day I was braking and hit a bumb. My brakes felt and sounded like they were grinding badly. I dunno what it is or if its supposed to happen.

Has this happened to any one else?

This isn't a problem. It is your ABS (anti-lock braking system) kicking in. When you hit a bump, the wheel can sometimes loose complete traction very briefly causing ABS to kick in. I just try to not be braking when hitting a bump.

yep, ABS

kinda scary because lots of potholes up here are near traffic lights and if i have to stop for a yellow, ABS kicks in and my wheel hops and sometimes i stop in the middle of the ped crosswalk

i also experience this regularly when riding over a bumpy surface. weird thing is, it still happens when i'm driving 2 mph. but yeah, it's definitely the abs
