Default Brian crower 2.2l b-series stroker

I've had a lot of people tell me that its a bad idea, but i cant seem to find anyone that has actually tried it. i hear the bearings are too small, the ratio is too wild, it cant rev high, and it wont last more than 10k. if the piston speed is the reason to keep revs down, what is the maximum piston speed i can have?

has anyone on here tried this? if so, how long did it last? what was the cause of failure? make rev did you take it too?

also, the H22 is a 2.2l as well. does anyone know the rod ratio and bearing size?

thanks guys

This is the link to my stroker motor...I would not recommended this setup for a daily Driver though!

very nice build. what would make you not recommend it? everybody says don't do it, but no one seems to have had a horror story that was theres.

Well I have not actually put any miles on it yet....I think it will get more than 10k miles out of it though. But if not I am already ready to freshen it up.

I think the reason most people don't like them is because of the rod/stroke ratio...I have never heard any person that has actually had a bad experience with one though....generally you just hear some one say "a friend of mine had one" you know how that goes.

you can daily drive it if you want as long as you don't mind tearing it down and freshening it up. The bearing are going to wear out faster than a stock motor...just the way it is....

i hear ya. if i do go with the stroker, ill be prepared to tear it down once in a while. are there better bearings to use and might take the abuse a little better? what other parts will be prone to wearing really fast?

Im just finishing a 2.1L , not with crower components, but an 85x95 none the less, with a ported head, performer X and pro2's. We're going to give the pro3's a shot as well. I can update you if you wish.

yes please! i think the crower kit is a 95 mm stroke too, so it might be a 2.1

i would love to see how you fair with your build.
