Default Anyone use Ebay Quick Release Steering Wheel Package?

My next project is a budget racer and I was considering trying out an ebay quick release steering wheel package. All I want to know is if anyone has used it and what their opinions of it are.

ALL OPINIONS WELCOMED, thanks.

IS there a lot of play or what? I just want to know how the quality is... I just ordered it to give it a shot.

Dayum. When did he buy it?? I know the older ones (pre 2007) were sucky but the newer ones work similar to the NRG ones. Hopefully it turns out alright... The feedback about them on ebay doesn't tell me much except for "Thanks, Good Seller Fast Shipping". If someone could give a detailed review of the quality of it and if it was at al a good bang for the buck then that would be really helpful. None the less, thanks for all the replies.

actually not really, the hub is usually rubber but this one is plastic. i had to cut a little of it off so it could look flush. but other then that its alright, paint just chips real easily.

the hub from the EBAY package is alright, its just plastic(the black part) but quick release is something you would want to change so it doesnt pop off.

Well, I installed 2 nights ago (Friday Night) and I am very pleased. The quality of the steering wheel is very nice and there's very little to no play. What it didn't come with was screws to attach half of the quick release to the hub adapter so I spent $3 at home depot on those . Also, between the other half of the quick release and the steering wheel is a small gap, so I placed a small rubber pad between the two (kinda like how skateboards have those rubber riser pads between the board and trucks to prevent stress cracks) and it came out feeling very solid. I drove on the Free way and on rough roads a couple times and the steering wheel feels very trust worthy so for $75 shipped my budget quick release package was a good deal

just make sure to watch the screws that have half the quick release to the hub because mine started to come a little loose and then the wheel moves but u can just re tighten them. other than that the quick release from e bay isnt bad.

and the problem if you are using nrg as a anti theft device is that 98 out of a 100 people with a quick release use it. But im not denying that it is a great qr for the price, there isnt any play between the 2 parts.

Exactly. That's also why I wanted something different. Literally, EVERYONE has an NRG quick release. I don't doubt their quality, it's just everyone has them.

Yeah, the ones that came with mine weren't even long enough to attach half of the quick release to the hub so I went to home depot and bought longer ones... 12 for $2.09 and I used the ones with the Phillips because those dang Allen wrench heads keep stripping on me when I want the bolts tight.
