Default Electrical experts, please read...

I am NOT an electrical expert so the following may be simple, but...
I am installing a Whelen strobe kit into my headlights and taillights (the same kit used by many police departments for patrol cars.) The kit has 13.5V input and is 90W. It pulls 9 amps. Is this okay? The electrical system in a Honda i'm sure is lesser than a Ford Police Interceptor, so I want to know if it will work correctly. Thanks.

It will work just fine...

Your car should make around 14.4V when it is running. The 90W should be the output to the bulb and the 9A is the amount of current that the setup is actually gonna pull from your electrical system.

No worries on it messing anything up just use good grounds and solder don't crimp!

Good luck on the install.

Install a relay if possible. Just for extra protection. But 9 amps isn't that much.

The realy really isn't necessary and if he is not good with electronics then it will just complicate the install...
