I just purchased a Radiator from Auto Zone for my 00 Civic Si. My OEM Radiator was leaking. The brand is Transpro and I picked it up for $91 plus tax.

I know this is not a name brand radiator, but will it work fine with my car? Will I have any problems with it? How will it compare to the OEM Denso?

Also, the rubber hoses are a bit big for the radiator outlets. Can I just use those clamps that tighen with the screw to make the hoses a bit tighter? Any problems with doing that?

Lastly this radiator has to things on the bottom for oil coolers which I do not have. Can I just leave them there with the rubber cap on them?

should be fine. and yes the oil cooler lines are for auto transmissions. just leave the caps on them. i did the same thing in my 95 civic

 

Everything will be fine.

those little thing you see at the bottom are for an auto matic trans cooler. Yes you have an auto radiator. No there will not be a problem if you dont hook them up to anything.

Just put it in and go

Yes, it is the one with the limited lifetime warranty.

The construction of it looks a lot cheaper compared to OEM. I hope it will last.

well as long as its not a lot smaller. i dont think it should be that far off is it?

I think that the single cam one has smaller outlets.

They do...I'm running the SOHC radiator in my GS-R'd hatch.

The reason it looks alot cheaper compared to OEM is due to the fact that it is cheaper than OEM...it's Autozone, remember?

Yes, the adjustable clamps will work, but since it appears to be a SOHC radiator and you have a B16, you might want to put 2 clamps on the end of the hoses that connect to the radiator, just to be safe.

 

So will the SOHC radiator work fine with my b16? Will it block or reduce flow of coolant at all?

Also, I did not do a full system flush. I just drained the radiator, so I probably still have coolant in my block. I'm not sure what kind of coolant it is, but it's green in color. Not that new red/yellow/etc stuff. Can I still find normal green coolant and what brand do you reccommend?

 

they're not much smaller....maybe and 1/8". not enough to worry about flow.

 

I just checked and the SOHC is 5/8'' and the DOHC is 1''. 3/8'' smaller.

I was just worried about the neck restricting flow.
