Default crx b18 starter problem??

i am thinking about buying a 89 crx si. it has a b18a1 and he says he think it needs a starter. i tried to start it, the pump primes, i turn the key and it doesnt do anything. the pump primes still when i turn the key so does it sound like the starter?? also it sounds like the relay clicks over and over. like the sound of a dead battery kinda.

its not my car and the guy says the starter is gone. im thinkin about buying the car. turn the key, pump primes then turn the key and nothing happens. hold it long enough and it sounds like the main relay clicks very fast.

If i were in your situation, I would find a good known starter and install and test it again.
