Default 4th gen w/ 90-93accord trans

i have tried searching new and archived content but found no real answer as to if the 90-93 accord f22a1 trans will fit in the 93 prelude chasis and/or bolt up to h22.

i am relatively sure it will, but wanted to know if anyone here has done it and did they need to modify the bolt holes (for the trans mount) or have any axle problems afterwards

It will bolt up to the h22, but it will not bolt into the chassis. You will somehow need to swap the tranny mounts. I tried doing this into my 92, but could not find the right bolts to mount the prelude mount onto the accord tranny. The one's that hold the accord mount on are different sizes than the other mount holes for the prelude.

hopefully that made sense.

The accord trans will mount in the chasis with the prelude mount. You will need to tap one or two of the holes.

The holes are already in the tranny casing just not tapped. I have done this before it is not hard at all.

Which Accord? EX/LX/DX/SE?

Either way you need to check if there are two other holes near the tranny mount studs on the case. They look like bolt holes with no threads. You use an 11/32 drill bit to enlarge them slightly then tap them with a 10mm x 1.25mm tap. Then just relocate two of the existing studs according to the bolt pattern on the prelude mount. Then it will fit a Prelude using all Prelude mounts.

Because it is the same as the f22a1 tranny in a prelude. I was going the same route, but noone told me the above info about how to go about tapping the holes and what size tap to use.

If I had known that maybe I would have my prelude moving today instead of being parted out.

o.k i guess theres a diff in years for the f22 trans 90-93 doesnt have the untapped holes to be tapped, so i cant use my h22 trans mount, anyone know how to make it fit in 4th gen, maybe with 90-93 mount,
p.s i dont have that mount.

The 90-93 lx tranny I have has the holes that have to be tapped. I know this b/c the prelude mounts fits right over the smaller holes and I have bolted it up using smalled bolts.

the 1990 tranny wont work, it does nto have the extra set of holes, you need a 91 and newer tranny.

90-93 trans only have 3 sets of holes, not 5 and 2 to be tapped, i know what you mean even the h22 trans have 5 holes 2 untapped.
i realize i cant use it as it is unless i get a custom mount but has anyone just swapped the caseings from a newer f/h trans with the 5 holes?
