Default Arai vs Suomy

Have not been able to try on a Suomy due to dealers around my area not carrying them. I am looking at helmet's in the $350 range. Is there really a quality difference or is it more personal preference?

What are your thoughts on the Arai Vector? I really want best ventilation and lightest helmet for what I can afford. It's between the Quantum, Profile or Vector at this point.

Stop worrying about the brands and models and start thinking of the fit.

I've had both helmets and it's all about the fit. Even tho they look the same, they fit very different. I preferred Arai but thats my preference. Suomy's are very loud.

SUomy has the lightest helmet I believe, but I wore a spec-1r and it was way too noisy. If you ride with earplugs its not a big deal though.

I prefer Shoei, as they fit my head better that arai and are very light and quiet.

Arai's seem to fit very well. Like I said, I have not been able to try on a Suomy so I wouldn't know. I like that Arai would be quiter.

Supposedly the Suomy run a size small (ie, you fit an L Arai but an XL Suomy). I haven't personally confirmed it, but that's what many are saying.

Why only these two brands? I'd look at a variety of 'em, just so that you know what fits YOUR melon the best.

I wear small Arai RX7's and have fitted Suomy Spec1R's in small as well. The main difference for me is that Suomys are too tight for me around the crown.

Suomy has a shallow chin guard in my opinion. I like the RX7's roomy design better.

Went to a Arai dealer tonight, found my size and just purchased a Black Frost Quantum 2 on ebay for $300
