k20 swap into base rsx....
Thinking about the possibilities of swapping k20 into base rsx. I know the k20 swap into ek/eg/dc is going to run about 6-8k$. How much is this going to cost? What parts dont i need. ie im guessing i wouldnt need mounts since k20 would be direct bolt in rsx chassis. Any info will help. Thanks.
I am just curious as to why you want to do the k20a2. You could spend the money on K-Pro and a supercharger and get awesome gains from the A3. Are you going from auto to manual? The swap can probably get expensive and time consuming whereas the supercharger and tune would net waaayyy more power than the k20a2 swap! This is just my .02 and sorry I can't answer any of your questions... Good luck.
k20a2 would net more power if you went that route then supercharging or turboing a base. I can gurantee you will get bored with that power if you boosted the a3. If you truly want the power in the long run k20a2 would be your best bet.

Wait... I'm lost in life right now. A base that's Manual or Automatic? And what k20 are you talking about? I'm guessing the k20A is what you're talking about? Be specific.
In my opinion, you might as well just trade in your base model for a Type-S model and work from there, with either the k20a2 ('02-'04) or k20z1 ('05-'06) motors. Supercharging or turboing either of those Type-S motors would be your best bet. You'll probably save a lot of money and have it very easy for you.

you need the motor, ecu and subframe. thats its. plug and play. reuse everything else (axles, mounts, wiring, etc.) the only thing you will be missing assuming you go with a six speed is a plug for the reverse lockout. ive seen many people go without it so it shouldnt be a problem.
I had a base and traded it for a Type S. For the price of the engine swap you can get the car that came stock with the engine you want, better suspension, brakes, etc.
sometimes i feel like a broken record but just get a type s. Its not worth the aggravation, money and time to do the swap. Its not like swapping a gsr engine into a dc4 where that has become much easier to do. For the money its going to cost u to do the swap its going to be probably be more than the difference between the price of ur base and a type s
