when i first got to the mall, i took my face plate off of my headunit and put it in my glove box. after i was done shopping, i went back to my car, turned the car on and put my face plate on but then all of a sudden, my head unit turns on and off by itself. this problem has never happened before and i dont know whats wrong. if anyone can give me some suggestions , id really appreciate it, tia

 

Have you tried re-seating the face plate? Also trying cleaning the connections where the plate mates up to the HU.

 

its more likely that the connections are dirty. If you clean them and set the faceplate in correctly and you still have the problem then it is time for a new stero. alot of people damage the connections from taking it off and putting it back on.

Isopropyl alcohol can be used to clean the connections. Although it may not be the face plate connections. It is possible that you could have a wiring issue elsewhere.
