dizzy question again.

ok i still havnt figured out how to run my codes since i put the dizzy on and had a check engine light.. BUT i was thinking... say i did get the wrong distributor.. would the car still run good? kuzz it starts up fine idles great.. WAY better than it did.. but theres just a check engine light now..

i did today, found out what the problem is and now i want help fixing it.. before i pay a pro to do something i could do i would like to know what it is.
