Default SOHC Australian Pulsar

Hi guys,
I posted pics up of my Nissan Pulsar ages ago when it was still a street car.
Since then we have been working away on it and changed the setup a fair bit. Now the car will only be used for drag racing.
Our previous best was 11.52@127mph using standard internals and standard suspension.
This time around we are using Forged pistons and Rods, so hopefully we can wind a heap more boost in and punch out some good power. We also made up adjustable perch height struts using Koni bump/rebound inserts.

We have also changed to using a Dry Ice intercooler.

The goal is to go fairly deep into the 10's. We are still using the same turbo and injectors which will be a limiting factor, but the plan is to get it going and get the car to launch well then we will think about a bigger pump.

Cheers

Thanks for the positive words. The car is actually close to being done but its hard to find time with work commitments. I think within the next month or so it should be fairly close. We are just doing the front half of the cage at the moment.

Fuel wise it will probably be C16 but I have heard pretty good things about the Elf 121octane. Will wait and see for that.

The engine is an E15 1500cc 2valve, the block is a fairly strong thing(being cast iron) but the problem is the the head just isnt a good design.

The cooler is pretty big, but should be a good thing

Cheers

Hi schwitzerT, from the look of your car it runs an E15 aswell. I heard rumors that they came out in other cars but never saw it before.
The pistons are a Custom order job. Unfortunately knowone has them stocked on the shelf as there is probably little demand.
You could try any of the major piston manufacturers, i.e, Arias, CP, JE, Ross...
It comes down to price and who you feel has the best deal for you.

Hi DaveF, We will be limited by the turbo and injectors, at the moment its only running 550cc and a 440hp turbo. Once its up and going we will try to sort out the suspension and then wind in more power.
I think we could go 380-400hp with this turbo, once we upgrade hoping for 500-530hp.

I will get some more photos up soon.

Cheers

Hi all, we have been doing a bit more work on the car lately. We got some Dry ice for it on the weekend and stuffed the cooler full. Pretty funny, damn it gets cold.
We are about 2 weeks off the dyno (we could run now but wanna get the fron of the cage finished first).

We are pretty excited to get it on the rollers. Anyway here are some pics

Cheers
