Break IN
When I bought my car Honda said stay under 4k RPM until 500 miles on engine. well I hit 510 today i was wondering if its safe to give the car a little beating now? i mis shifted a couple times and over reved too like 8k a few times should i be scared? everything seems fine soo far. I read about some guys si burning oil. i really hope that doesnt happen to me.

Honestly, you should be shifting at 3k rpm and never above always when you're breaking in IMO. And even after the break-in period, unless you're in the mood to drive fast, regular shifting is done around 3k rpm from one gear to the next.
Break-in period is a little more than 500 miles in my book, try doing at least 1000 miles, never shifting above 3000 rpm. Also, not only should you only shift at 3k rpm but you should also not drive above 60 - 65mph, so when you drive on the highway, relax in the slow lane.
To make the break-in period pass by faster, go run some errands or help others run errands. And avoid making short trips...starting your engine to only drive a couple miles and then turning it off and then on again isn't good. Try to make decently long trips (+10 - 15miles) until you get past 1000 miles.
The new SI is equiped with a rev-limiter. You'll notice a red light flash when you attempt to go past 8000 rpm (whether you meant that to happen or not). It isn't very damaging unless you do it a lot...which you shouldn't It's really REALLY bad however if you reved to 8000 and then put the car into gear...so as long as you didn't do that (shifting into gear at +8000rpm) you shouldn't worry much. If you DID do that...one time shouldn't hurt much.
Treat your car gently until you get past the break-in period. And even after that, treat it well.

people have different opinions on break in some guys that build performance motors believe that you should not baby the motor from the get. but others believe you should . I have broken in many different engines some hard and some easy and my conclusion is the hard break ins run stronger in my case. I did not baby my si during break in not saying that you shouldn't just stating what has worked for me. at 17.000 miles I don't burn oil anymore I have no blow by and the car runs strong. so missing shifts and reving high really wont kill the car but it should not be done all the time. don't shift pass 8000 rpm and try not to bounce off the limiter unless your built for it. good luck and don't worry. good luck
