im considering buying a 91 crx si. it has a d16 dohc engine and hasport mounts. the car has only 123xxx on it. it has an exhaust on it, a catback which im not sure wut brand. it looks like a stock one almost. the bad is the car has a body kit. it does not look horendous like some ive seen. has few small fuel upgrades and thats about it. he said "around $1000" so im thinking of walkin up to him with 600 CASH. let me know wut u think. thank u, srry if this is the wrong section.

 

Go lower like 400 bucks. Why because body kits are falling apart

 

ya the kit would come off for sure. ill offer 400 then if not then 500 so on.... ppl cant pass up cash. it makes them itch

does it sound like its worth it?? ive been searching for long time and finnaly found one. and only 123000 miles. i didnt get to hear it run becuz the guy wasnt there but i will get the whole scope tommorow. hopefully u here from me on my new purchase. thx guys

Seems like its a nice project to start, but I'd be careful even at the listed 1000 it seems a little low for that car. Remember you get what you pay for, so check out everything on it before you get it. Good luck with it.

 

it needs some stuff for sure. the kid was going to completely strip it and beat the hell out of it at a local race track. he already ripped down one si mint!!! condition with 100000 miles on it. turned it to a race car and then sold it. it needs some work like the battery is in the rear of the car, maybe ill leave it. body kit needs to go, needs the center console and some other small interior peices. but if he takes 500, thats perfect for me. the crx is going extinct!! especially the si. the hasport mounts are worth about 500 themselves i wont let him know

ABSOLUTELY...you do pay what you get for...or wait....get what you pay for. Make sure you ask lots of questions like...well...i can think of a few, but you get the idea...just to be safe on your part. Its a steal though if he gives it to you for anything under that 1000 their selling for. Just ask questions..intelligent ones about the car.

just went and checked it out. it has a b18a1 in it. that is pretty much the same as b18b1 right?? both non-vtec?? he wasnt there again but hes supposed to call me. if the motor runs good does it sound like a good deal, with b18a1?? thx guys

Cash talks man, approach him with something like $400 and work your way up from there if YOU think it's worth it. Nothing wrong with starting low.

Sounds almost to good to be true, but at that price you should go for it. like you said the parts in it are worth more than what ur gonna offer. buy it, if it breaks sell what ever you can thats left. Bought my old civic for 600 with stock engine, drove it for a year blew the motor and at the end after selling everything off it had close to 1000.

 

it has a b18a1 and he says he think it needs a starter. i tried to start it, the pump primes, i turn the key and it doesnt do anything. the pump primes still when i turn the key so does it sound like the starter?? also it sounds like the relay clicks over and over. like the sound of a dead battery kinda. if so ill throw it in there so i can hear it. i got a couple extras
