I have a freind with a type r motor in his civic and he want to put Toda b or JUN 2 in his motor.Right now he has Crower cams and they are the 63402a.And he wants more Hp and Tq.Now what ones are going to give him more Tq thats all he really cares about.For his valve train he has portflow inners and Type R outers.Thanks for your help.

 

Well crower 402a cams are pretty good. I would tell your friend to stick with that and save his money. Save the money for portflow port/polish.

 

maybe spend the money on some more tuning or ecu. unless he has truely maxed it out now. not sure f the added money would be worth the couple horsepower he may gain.

 

ok he has a port and polish and the motor is built so he wants to now what cams are better and he nows the 402a are good but he want somthing better.not save your money and save up for somthing else .he want to know if anyone nows what they are talking about in this site ..thats all. so if you can tell me what ones are better than the crowers.Thank You

 

what CR is he running ? since you say the motor is fully build

 

CR? you mean compresion ratio? if it is its 12.5

 

Ok, well jun2's are very similar to jun3's, except the jun3's pull harder as it approaches around 9000 rpm. However, this varies for each car. Tell your friend to get toda B's if he wants better overall power, or jun2's for top end power.

 

So you are saying toba Bs are better than Jun 2s????he wants Mid hp and Tq and high too...so what ones you think are better...

Portflow inner/ITR outer is good for up to 12 mm lift cams. Portflow makes excellent springs

 

Toda Bs on Portflow/ITR springs?!? I would go with JUN IIs or IIIs purely for the fact that the primary lobes arent so big like toda Bs are, so you wont go through timing belts every 30k miles.

 

Theres nothing wrong with running toda cams on the porflow inner/itr outer combo. Many people on this board are running that set up as well as I. Changing your timing belt at 30k isn't such a big deal anyways. You think of how much money you've spent on the cams/springs/labor/retainers/gear that you would have enough money to change a timing belt. 30k doesn't come that often unless you drive like a mad man. Either way, you'll be happy with either set up.

 

Im not saying Toda is bad or anything, just with the JUNs you basically have close to stock reliability, not so with Toda.

 

He doesnt want close to stock he want more hp and tq so everyone is saying TODA Bs?????does anyone have dyno charts of both cams???and are the TODA Bs better than the Jun2s and Crower 63402a???

 

I have a dyno of toda B's on my car, but it doesn't have a comparison with other cams.

Well i dunno. I raced my friend with crower 402a's. I only beat him by half a car or so and he was untuned.

 

Intake: 250 (11.0) - 295 (12.0) - 250 (11.0)
Exhaust: 250 (11.0) - 285 (12.0) - 250 (11.0)
That is the specs on the toda Bs...what are the specs on the jun2s????

 

Hey maybe you should READ my post. I said close to stock RELIABILITY, which, as you may or may not know, has nothing to do with torque or hp. Also, are his Crowers tuned at all, or did he just throw them in? What kind of power is it making now?

 

Toda vs Jun ROUND 2344.

I personally like Toda, but I wouldn't mind Jun too!!

 

I ran Crower 64302`s a few months ago and they made good power.
Now I`m running JUN 2`s and noticed they are difficult to tune... But they are of better quality..
Can`t say someting against Toda B´s but I know they have big primary lobes, while JUN`s have stock idle...

Now I`m making 190+whp with my JUN`s and the engine runs smooth up to 9000rpm. The midrange power is huge and 7000+rpm band feels very agressive.

You should talk to IMPORTREVIEW.COM. He compared JUN`s and TODA`s a year ago and his vote was: JUN. Better power, better idle, better quality. That`s what he said last year...
