ok i get keeping a code 16 - injector system. its still dpfi. i converted back quickly becuase i couldnt get an ecu and i need my car asap!! no matter what i do i keep getting this code. the car will crank over forever but it wont start...anyone got some ideas?

yeah theirs spark. i reset the ecu by pulling the fuse and now the code 16 is gone. but it still just cranks and cranks. will not fire.... although while checking for spark on 1 cylinder it backfired once....

 

backfired, timing is set wrong. TDC on #1 piston and cam tdc with arrow pointing up

 

i just went and checked it, its all good.. i got code 16 again after cranking it over for a bit..

You might want to check your main relay. same thing happened to me(16 injection system) sounds like the same symptoms i had, got a new relay and it started RIGHT up.

 

you have spark, but you getting fuel?

should be, the fuel pump and everything is priming when i turn the key...i dont really smell fuel though after trying to crank it over. i worked on the thing for almost 10hrs yesterday finishing it up, i got sick of looking at it, ill try more today.

 

Make sure your injectors are plugged in all the way. This happened to a friend of mine, the prongs on the injector were bent.

 

ok, i will check them. i did have them de-pinned while i was doing the mpfi swap, but i had to convert back..

 

double check your wiring that is probably where it is. you can get a noid light that plugs into fuel injector plug and lights up when the ecu is telling it to fire.

does anyone have a wiring diagram for a dpfi mani? i searched and can only find the wiring for an mpfi swap..

and i should of probably said this earlier but i just remembered i have an extra wire coming out of my 'B' plug on the ecu, i dont remember de-pinning it and all the schematics i have dont show a white wire with red stripe..i dont know which pinout to put it in now.
