i just got this d16y7 running in my crx its obd0 with a pm6 ecu and the rev limit is at 6k. what could be the problem? the only thing i havent done is set the timing cause i droped my timing light and it broke.

 

any ideas?

maybe try to manually time it w/ the haynes manual.

Its the "cold" rev limit. the pm6 has 2 rev limits. if the car is not yet warmed up, the "cold" rev limit is 6400 i believe. when the car is warmed up, the rev limit changes to 7200. By cold i mean less than about 120 degrees F.

you should be happy it was there.. revving your car high when its "cold" is a recipe for disaster.

 

no no cel you could be right about the cold thing i dont really drive the car when i do i just smash it down the street then park it again. ill warm it up and try it again.

ok the cold thing didnt work still wont rev past like 5500. i think it might be the ecu. thats funny about your motor your roomate must be like me i really dont care about any single cam motor cause thier so cheap and easy to come by so i tend to beat the crap out of them. i dont have a spare pm6 so im gona try a pr4 just to see if it will rev all the way.
