Default compatible tranny

I need some help guys, i'm on my way to the junkyard very shortly, i need to know what kind of transmission is compatible with my car. i got a 92 dx. no work really to it. I'm not tryin to make it faster right now because i don't have a lot of money. Matter of fact all i really have the money for is to go to the junkyard. can anyone tell me what years and models will be compatible. it's an EG8 D15. thanks.

i actually managed to grab one off a 94 si so it worked out well. like i said, wasn't lookin for an upgrade, just a replacement, but it worked out that the one with the least miles and in best condition happened to be a 94 si so i dropped it in tonight, almost finished, just gotta put my suspension back on and we'll find out how it runs tomorrow.

actually since i needed a new clutch i went ahead and replaced that yesterday too, and my neighbor, who is a mechanic, told me drive the clutch real easy for the first week so i don't really know yet. but i'll let you know when i get a feel for it. I've been told the gear ratio is supposed to be a little better. is that true?

Any 1992-2000 civic with a D-series tranny. Go for the 92-95 civic EX / SI (d16z6) or the 96-00 civic EX (d16y8). They both have the shortest gearing for the single cam motors (aside from the rare JDM D15b w/ oem LSD)
