Default short ram lose power in lower RPM?

If I go from the stock air box to a short ram intake on a LS/GS, will I lose torque or hp in the lower RPM? I understand short ram sucks up hot air, but doesn't the higher air flow make up for this?

i always thought that anything was better than the restrictive stock air box??? i may be wrong tho... just dish out extra 70$ and get cold air intake.

It's suposed to make more power then the AEM...well the comptech version. I like the sleeper look and you won't hear you VTEC kick in so loud.

I hope you are right jwmav!

I don't want to worry about hydro lock with the cold air intake, beside it is too hard to install that sucker for me.

That's the only downfall . But they do make good power gains.

i'ts been pouring here for a week straight and i've been driving everywhere with no problems, if you fully submerge it then you hava a prob but make sure you keep the fender lining in, the only people that i've heard of having hydrolock are ones with no fender lining

yeah I didn't have my fender lining in...mine stalled and that's when I took mine out. And I don't like the sound of my VTEC kicking in.....I'm not a ricer...I mean a racer.
