i have a 01 honda prelude and i want to have autostart but its a 5 speed so the shop will not do it (i do have a viper alarm system that allows me to have autostart) if any one can help thanks
have you tried going to the viper website and looking up your viper model number?
They should have some PDF manuals i would imagine

I sell starters as i work for an electronic store.
Viper does not make a model that will work with a standard and it is very dangerous to put an auto starter in a manual. You also need a bypass module installed as the 97-01 prelude has an ignition security system.
rethink this with maybe an "autostart" product as they can be used in an auto or standard.

I highly recommend not installing an autostart in a manual transmission car. My friend had one in his 98 prelude and accidently left his clutch in first gear (car was parked on a sloped driveway). His sister autostarted the car the next morning, not knowing it was in gear, and the car went through the garage door.
I have a 4th gen manual with remote start and i love it. Summer time in Alabama can be brutal if you have to get into a car that is 125 degrees inside. Just don't ever leave it in gear when you shut it off.
Trust me it will only take one time of leaving it in gear and you won't ever do it again. If you have a 5th gen then you are going to have to bypass the immobilizer system or disable it to use remote start.

still, i wouldnt do it...i was thinking of this myself after having to deal with the coldest morning in a long time, but after talking to some people, i realized it's definately not worth it-especially because I'm a forgetful person sometimes, especially while in a rush, so I would not feel good knowing what could happen.
ur choice tho...
srry i dont know how to put it in tho...that's why i opened the thread in the 1st place lol

fyi you don't leave your clutch in first gear
lol
but that's exactly why i wouldnt. the advantages of an autostart isnt so advantageous imo. at the very least i would never leave my car running unattended. my car warms up in 2 mins anyway.

No it will buck forward.

My local honda dealership will let anyone look at and make copies of their service manuals. Ask your local dealer if they do the same. If so make copies of the ignition wiring diagram and the viper system should come with instructions on which wires go where. Wiring in an alarm sytem is not the most difficult job to undertake. A few scotch locks and some zip ties maybe a pair of side cutters is all you need. Don't forget the box that goes under the dash with a key to your car in it to bypass the immobilizer.
i wouldn't bother with an auto start on a manual. if its one of the simpler ones, you run into a possibility of forgeting to leave it in gear. if its one of those smart ones, they make you jump through all sort of procedures before you get out. annoying imo. i'd rather run out of the house 5 mins early, start it, run back in. works every time and doesnt cost anything
