Default Heat wrap or NO heat wrap?

Should i heat wrap my header or get a new ceramic coating? And is there different colored heat wrap? I am currently using a ProFab header.

given the choice, i would get it jet hot coated. if you dont want to so that, if you live in a dry climate and dont daily drive the car, there is nothing wrong with heat wrapping it.

there are different colored heat wraps, summit and whatnot carries the white and the charcoal, but if you want a diff color than that, pm me and ill let you know where.

you might get flamed man appearently people either love wrapped headers or hate them
my .02 would be that if F1 doesnt use it then its not the best way but then again F1 headers get just about white hot so that could have something to do with it

oh and clean bay, looks sexy!

F1 headers are also made of inconel. a little different than what most street headers are made of.

if you're worried about it. i'd say go for heat wrap. most headers made by a reputable company don't seem to have any issues being wrapped. shouldn't hurt anything and if you don't like it you can always take it off.

good luck.

Heat wrap it if you want it to crack, I haven't seen a turbo manifold or header that didn't crack after being wrapped for awhile.

Know of anywhere I can get it jet hot coated, and there is a local here that will put another ceramic coating on it for 150. Got any info on the jet hot?

As stated, they are made of inconel and dont get white hot, unless something is seriously wrong.

i dunno, i pretty much dont translate too much f1 technology into street driven 4 banger hondas. ya know, 1inch strokes and peak torque at 18,000 rpms and redline at 21k, oh i dunno, probably leave that kinda stuff alone, might give myself an anuerism.

Youre actually pretty close with most of that, you might be further along than you thought.
