Default engine potency

what makes the k24 block with the k20 head so potent? and why cant you just do a straight k24 swap and call it better? if someone can mechanically explain to me HOW it differs that would be great. thanks.

Please search next time, but the k24 is a 2.4L giving more displacement. If a k24a2 is not used then a k20a2 head is a better choice. The k20a2 not only flows better than all k24 heads, but also has true vtec with 50 degrees of VTC. The k24a2 head only has 25 degrees of VTC but has true vtec. The intake cam however can be modified to achieve 50 degrees. Hope this helps.

Actually, the K24A2 VTC has to be changed both electronically and mechanically.
