90-91 y1 b16 gears onto 92-93 ys1 counter and main shafts
ok i picked up a y1 b16 cable trans from a buddy for dirt cheap. has a messed up reverse and possibly 3rd gear. basicly reverse wont engage because of the teeth messed up on first. in the car now i have a ys1 case with 99 gsr gear set. the case has been modified to accept a hydro lsd which i have yet to install. now will the gears from the y1 tranny work on the GSR counter and mainshaft? or are they to small? i kno the counter shaft itself will not work on the car because of my clutch. im just curious on the gear swapping. tried searching didnt get a str8 answear

Everything is different between the Y1 and YS1. Although the YS1 is a cable transmission, the internals are actually more similar to the hydraulic transmissions.
thanks thats all i needed to kno. i kno the ys1 stuff is simialr to the hydro thats why im running the 99gsr internals at the moment. i fixed the revers gear with one fomr a ysl ls. fit perfectly. now all i ned to get is the third gear and a 90-91 clutch disc.
