4x100 to 4x114 spacers Has anyone tried these before?
i saw these on ebay and i was just wondering if anyone has tried these spacers or have them on there cars. it say it is 15mm thick
Bump.
I have always wanted to use these, but the only feedback I've seen is "Don't do it." AND "I've heard horror stories."
Its never 1st person experience. People just tend to be biased against them. If I get a set of 96 ITR rims, I will buy them and post my experience here. I think most people are just against them because its kind of "cheating" in a way. Almost like buying Rotas or something...it's the same concept as bolting something on to your regular hub except that it messes with your offset (ok by me).

hmm I guess the question here is what exactly would be wrong with them. Messing with your offset is cosmetic, but does it affect handling? Are your rims gonna break off?

Well, it pushes your wheels out, effectively widening your stance like regular spacers would. This =good for handling. Wether or not the the studs break off though...that is what I would like to know. But, I dont see why they would though.

Wouldn't it wear out the wheel bearing faster? Since the wheel is spaced out further from the wheel bearing.

very true...i'd like to see a good honest review for these spacers. Note, i'm not sure if i would buy just anykind of ebay spacers. They'd have to be quality spacers.

A wider stance isn't always good for handling, and is usually bad. By changing the offset drastically, you can increase torque steer and make the car more "nervous" when steering or hitting bumps.
H&R makes very similar spacers that allow Porsche wheels to fit on Audis. I have heard good things about the H&R spacers, but I have no experience with either the H&Rs or these. As long as they are hubcentric, I can't imagine them being TOO bad for the car, but I would be interested in learning how they attach to the hub as our cars us studs, instead of bolts like an Audi.

^^^^Wasn't aware of torque steer being exacerbated when widening the stance of an FF car. It makes sense. I come from the FR world so I am still relatively new when it comes to FF.
These have been sold in Japan for a while, but most people aren't aware of that. If a lot of peeps became aware of this there would probably be more people rocking these, since it would be "JDM."
Here's an ad in one of my Japanese mags:
