Default Enigne power?

Well i have a 97 Honda civic Dx. i was wondering what i could do to give it some more power. Its pretty lame right now. Im planning on doing a mini-me head sawp and turbo. but what could i do now that wont cost me out the butt to do to the motor that will give it some more umph Thanks!

all answers are the same. bolt ons won't do ****

swap or boost.

@ OP:
Search, this has been covered a kazillion times. The only practical way to extract power out of a D series motor is to A) Boost, or B) Forget the D motor and swap it out.
