my 5th grands.

if i keep putting it in 5th it will just get to the point that it wont go in anymore?
will it break my tranny?

i wanna know how much would it be to change that?

What kind of transmission is it? I hear that third and fifth wear out after a while on B series transmissions. If you have the tools, it might be in your best interest to work on it yourself.

 

its USDM ITR transmission 4.4 FD

 

 

sounds like 5th gear's synchros are done, and they need to be replaced. this happened on my d-series tranny and i had to swap the whole thing because it did it in 3rd and 5th gear. most shops charge around 400 just to take the tranny out not counting misc parts and other things they find to ding you for. gl bro.
