what happened to Realtime at Mid Ohio?
who was at Mid Ohio for the ALMS race weekend? what happened to the Realtime Integras? both cars did not qualify well and neither finished on the podium. you would have expected a better result since MO is Honda's "home" track. Pierre is still the points leader & PD is still 3rd but the gap is a little smaller than it was before this race.
They will probably do a lot better at Road America next weekend. With RA so close to the RT shop, they probably have more experience there than any other team on that track.

Ok, I'll try and fill you guys in. First off, this is the first time in 3 years that Realtime has been to MidOhio so don't think they had any advantage in that factor. In Friday's last practice, PD was 2nd fastest in GT, and Pierre and PD were 4th and 6th fastest in Touring.
During GT qualifying, PD was consistently clicking a tenth or so off each flying lap until he started smoking about half way through the session and had to pull it in and ended up 5th. So right after that, Touring goes out for practice. Pierre stayed out most of the time but couldn't get any higher than 9th. PD went out and did about two warm up laps. The next time he came around on his "flyer" he was smoking bad. He brought it in right after that so he only got one quick lap in while the motor was blowing up (which is why he started 47th). They had to swap the engine on PD's Integra Saturday night (along with two other ITR's on other teams that blew up in qualifying). I saw PD after the qualifying sessions and he was pissed!! You'd be too if the engine in your NSX and ITR blew up within about 30 minutes of each other.
During the GT race, PD fell back to 6th on the start, moved back up to 5th on a restart after a full course yellow, and then lost two positions in the last two laps to finish 7th. He just didn't have the speed. Do you guys realize that they have him down to only 2psi of boost? The Touring race was great to see PD come up through the field from his 47th starting position to finish 13th, I think he had something to prove. I'd like to see what he would have done had he started in the top 10. Pierre didn't do much of anything. Again, they just didn't have the speed.
I think SCCA finally gave enough to everyone else to beat the Acura's. It's time to start giving back. I mean common, 4 Protege's and a Civic Si finish in front of the first ITR!! I wouldn't hold my breath for Road America either. I think the ITR's are going to get spanked again. It's a power track with huge straightaway's. But, PD is going to be racing the new RSX-S at Road America which will be interesting. I was talking to some of their tech guys about it and they just say "torque".

When they win they add weight to level out the playing field. If you keep winning its only so long before the weight is such that driving skill can't make up for it.
since they did bad this past weekend, the reward weights will come off ri? hrm, maybe they were sandbanging so that the weight comes off for RA
