LMAO - I shoulda thought of that. As it is, I soaked it up with the paper towel method.
Valve cover is back on with new seals. I will wait for morning to fire it up - gonna wait for the RTV liquid gasket to set good first. Don't want that crap floating around in my engine.
This whole thing started cuz I could smell a tinge of burnt oil in the cabin when coming to a stop after driving a few miles on the freeway. Just a small seep most people probably would've just lived with.
Thanks for the quick responses. TI wouldn't even allow my post. SEARCH... blah blah blah. I did search - and NOTHING. Frakkin' *****. I get a lot of good info from there without having to post, but the SEARCH function is not the end-all be-all for getting answers.

welcome to anti ti club!!!!! all of us have experienced the ****'s over there. any by any chance being that you had the valve cover off did you change the cam seal cause that most likely is the leak you had. The notorious cam seal leak from honda.

No - the cam seal was fine. The initial leak was def from the the front of the head/cover seal - toward the driver side.

maybe one of the spark plug seals fell off. Make sure you check them, i have never had to replace mine. But they do say to replace the valve cover gasket everytime you take it off. The best way to get the oil out is get and extractor, with a small tube and suck it out. You could go to like a valvoline or some place that has a T tech machine and those have a line with a real small hose. That owuld work good to.
i ad that problem with oil getting into cylinder 2. got new valve gasket, and spark plug seals. how i got the oil out. take your spark plugs out. get a air gun. wrap it with a cloth, stick it in the cylinders and shoot it out. the cloth will catch it. just dont cover the whole where the air comes out the gun. when you do this you car will burn a little bit of oil for a bout five minutes.

Why would I do that? Seriously.
It's already back together and running great with no leaks. What I still need to do is get some engine degreaser and clean up the mess.

Yes I have question as well about my valve cover gasket. I have replaced it many times and the front corner keep leaking. I have trying no sealant and sealant on the corners. The two humps on each side are fine its just in the corner what can i do.
When you use it, cover things (dizzy, battery, fuse box, throttle body) up with plastic bags - the other miscellaneous sensors can handle a bit of water. You want to have the engine slightly warm - the degreaser works better that way. Spray the stuff all over and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. Then hose it down. Area's with heavy build-up may require some scrubbing.
It's worth your time to do this. Not only will it help you track down the source of your leak, but a clean engine is nice to look at too.
ok thats sounds good but i just want something that will clean the valve cover gasket and and the gasket sits on to make sure it got a clean seal. I do not care at this point if the engine is clean just that it seals. and i know where is leaks so i will clean it here then see what i got.
Do what you want then. All I'm saying is that with a dirty engine, you can't even be sure 100% where your leak is coming from. There many places the head can leak and the evidence can be misleading. You say you've already replaced the VC gasket multiple times, but it still leaks. OK - either your head is warped or it's not really leaking from where you think it is.
