New Year, how about a fresh/new classifieds thread? and maybe a WTB thread?

Well, if you look at the the first thread in this forum, you'll see a 17 page massive thread which some pasts date back to 12/4/2006. While I do see that Art requested that people edit their 1 post when they sell or add items from/to it, some people have a bunch of posts in there. also, some people arent really members of this forum in the scene anymore.
Bascially, I think its cluttered with old parts that are not/may not be available for sale anymore. I think a new thread for the new year (and maybe every new year) would be best.
Also, some other forums have a WTB Sticky thread as well. With the amount of Drag racers who have shops/businesses with too many parts to list for sale, i think this type of thread would be beneficial to those who need some parts a shop may have laying around or may be able to get a good deal on. This helps the racer (end user) get their parts to be able to race and helps the shop (supplier) make some money to be able to race as well.
also, i wouldn't say to blackhole the old classified thread, just lock it and let it slowly fade. so people can search it if need be, and copy/paste their old post into the new one if its still active.

I think there should be 2 stickied threads, a Drag Racing Classifieds, and a Drag Racing Want To Buy. Sometimes you get in a bind and need something fast, who else to turn to but the loving people in the drag racing section
lol

What about a "Mini forum Sponsor Section" something where you can have ( 1) sale a month of (1) product only, something that people can affort to pay a month to help both the forum and us.

^^^ that will never happen. YoParts gave Honda-Tech a big amount of money to be able to publicly under-cut everyone and ***** out parts in the drag racing section

i noticed in some of the model specific sections the fs/wtb threads are done monthly. so the first of every month the sticky is unstickied or deleted and a fresh one for that month is made so that way you have a fairly current list.

And also enforce the rule a little more so the same person does not put the same thread on every new page that clutters up the thread a lot.

best thing since ssautochrome was put b/w sliced bread and served with an olive on top!
in all seriousness... i do agree a new FS and WTB sticky would be very good for the drag racing forum!

I was told by Clayton that you could post your stuff once per page.

Somebody buy DaveF's parts so we dont have to scroll though all his stuff every time we look at the FS section
I think it would be better if everyone made a post in the HT classified FS section and post the link in the drag racing FS sticky with a brief description. DaveF has hundreds of pics
luckily im not on 56k

That is what i suggested, that way the parts that are sold wont clutter the thread.

I don't know I was just refering to the orginal thread rules.
Please read the rules for the new thread
1) This is for Race Car parts ONLY. No body panels, fenders etc allowed, unless it is a full race front end. NO useless OEM parts!
2) Do NOT repost your thread over and over hoping to get it on a new page. If your parts sell please remove them from your post. If you sell everything off of your list of parts, report your post to moderator by clicking on the just under your user name and I will delete it.
3) you are ONLY allowed ONE post in this thread.
4) NO WTB ADDS!
5) NO COMMERCIAL POSTS AT ALL THIS MEANS, IF YOU OWN A SHOP DO NOT POST BRAND NEW PARTS IN HERE

A clean slate would be good. I quit looking through that stuff months ago because I'm lazy and there was a bunch of street car stuff in there.

lol... so true. You should only add to the orginal post rather than bumping it to the top and deleting the old.
I agree, a clean slate and a cut off... like 3-6 month old posts are removed. You can just add it back again if it never sold, but you better think why it never sold ($$$).

That's another good point. Guys like to slide in the little extra accesssories with 3 pics when there is only one performance part they're attempting to sell.
I do also like the idea for shops to be able to have somehting like a 'mini-market place', and be able to list something one a month or whatever agreed upon, at a cut race price or even a bidding war... to get rid of stuff just sitting on some of your shelfs. It doesn't have to be directly in this forum either, but would be nice. Just a thought...

First things first, I didn't tell Jeff that he could post once per page, sorry Jeff if you misunderstood, or I simply didn't get my point across well enough. What I did say was that you could delete your old post and create a new one. However this point is now moot. We're going to try a new thing with a monthly FS, and separate WTB sticky. We'll evaluate it and see how it goes from there...
