hytech replica header owners
does the hytech replica completely remove the cat and bolt straight to the b-pipe or is it similar to the jdm 4-1 and require a shorter cat? thanks
It requires a very, very short cat or a piece of straight pipe that many of the vendors sell as an add-on to the header sale. I couldn't tell you what the length of the 'test pipe' is however since I didn't get it. We custom built my exhaust so on mine I made the b-pipe bolt up to it with the flange.
thanks for the reply, i have an omni power test pipe that i ran with my jdm 4-1 header and it can be shortend to 12 inches long, can i use that or is the gap smaller than 12 inches?
ok so ive read that this header is longer than the jdm 4-1 so can anyone tell me the distance between the header flange and the b-pipe so i can fab up a test pipe please and thank you?
ive been told that the "extension pipe" sold with the header is just a 2.5" flange welded to some piping with unknown length cause they just hack off the b-pipe flange and weld it directly to the b-pipe. i am trying to keep all the flanges where they are and just fab up a pipe so does any one know the distance between the header flange to the b-pipe flange?
sorry but im going to bump this since this is a pretty recent post. and was wondering if you have to remove the ac for a hytech header to fit. was trying to look this up but couldn't find the answer. wanted to know before i decide to get one of these headers. (going on a 94 gsr dd)

really, okay, cause i saw a picture of one on a b series, only thing is i wasn't to sure which car the engine was in. and the picture didn't have a ac compressor on it. but okay then, thanks

update, i fabbed up the test pipe(fit like a glove) and bolted my header up this weekend with one problem. i have a small exhaust leak where the two pieces slip together. at first i thought if i get some different bolts with more threads on them it would pull it together better and that should fix it right, well no it didnt! so has any one else had this problem and how did you fix it or did you just get it welded together?

Did you buy a Donut Gasket? The header does not include the donut gaskets anymore so that may be the problem with your leak. You can goto a muffler shop and ask for a 2.5" in/outlet donut gasket or call Acura and ask for a s2000 donut gasket. should be about $30. That should solve your problem.

yeah the leak seems to be really common with the this header. The only solution really is to ust weld it. I always thought that mine never leaked air until i looked under my car on a cold night and i saw the vapor coming out.
dont want to thread jack but i took a picture to show the difference in length of a hytech and dc 4-1 header.......here is my link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2250004
