Default b18c5 rebuild

I had a b16 motor and i blew it 2 times...the 2nd time my block was not repairable so i went out and bought a type r block (b18c5)..it was covered in surface rust and the crank was in pretty bad shape....so i brought it to NRG Teach on Long Island New York and i could not be happier....not only did they hook me up with parts (i had the wrong oil pan, no baffle etc) and bolts that were missing but they did an amazing job thanks guys!! i will be back to get it tuned in a few months.....here are so pics of before and after....anyone else have a similar setup??

Head
-b16 head
-buddy club spec 3+ cams
-omni valve springs/retainers
-skunk2 cam gears
-bling bling red jdm valve cover haha

stock block
-b18c5

other stuff
-Hytech Replica Header
-Hytech Extension ( no cat)
-greddy evo2 exhaust
-omni coilovers
-hondata s100

BEFORE:

AFTER

Hytech Replica

Hytech replica vs B16 DC 4-1 header

my redone 800 miles later lol b16 head with omni valvetrain

goodbye b16......

Who advised the buddy club stage 3's? I think ITR or a similar stage 1 or 2 would make more power with the stock R compression which is about 10.8:1. I know someone who had did a similar build but used b16 pistons(higher compression). He had blox b's (stage 2 cam) and made more power went he went down to blox A's (stage 1). I may be wrong..I see a few people that it's worked for with big cams and small compression then i've seen the opposite. Anyways best of luck, we wouldn't know until it's on the dyno and tuned

hey man the buddy club spec 3's are actually a stage 1 cam.....dont know why buddy club started there cam levels at 3...its alittle more aggressive then the ITR cams....its basically the same cam as the skunk2 stage 1 cams....what kind of numbers was your friend making with the motor?

Don't knock the BC3 cause they are a stage 1 cam. They are badass cams for a DD in my opinion. Much more low and midrange than S1 cams From the specs and gains, they seem more like a stage 1.5 to me.

My bad, I forgot that BC 3's are stage 1.Yeah it is Confusng. My Friend "LSvtecMike" on here had LS bottom end with jdm b16 pistons, b16 head unported, intake mani (forgot which one), aem CAI. He made 204 whp/136 wtq. He made that power from switching to from a larger cam, to a smaller cam. He also switched from big tube rmf header to small tube vibrant header. It all depends on the overall setup. Check out this link...I think this is amazing. Here's a perfect example of the flip side, where they used a stage 3 cam with a bone stock b1bc5 bottom end. Don't know if you've seen this before since it was posted before. If you haven't, prepare to be inspired

i was shifting from 3rd to 2nd which was dumb but no i was not speeding either and i saw the tack it never went near 8200.....i use my stock redline with these cams because they only make power to stock limit anyway....another thing is that it was not tuned so that could have done something....i only had 800 miles on it and i was saving up for a tune and bammm it blew i was even taking it easy on the motor......anyway upgraded valve springs and retainers is worth the 300$
