Default stupid q....searched but nothing.

let me first start off by saying thanks for reading this thread and trying to answer my q. Now back to the question. I was driving home last night on a deserted road so I figured that was the best time to get on it if I was going to, seeing as how it was not a heavily populated area. Anywho, I did a couple pulls and on my last one I powershifted into second but I missed and rev'd to around 9-9500 rpms. By saying missed, I mean I was in neutral and didnt get into 2nd. When I missed, my cel light flashed. What type of damage could I possibly of done? bent valve? I should probably do a comp. check right?
BTW: It's a tuned ls vtec w/ b16 pistons, itr cams, rev valvetrain, and arp rod bolts.

I've seen honda engines rev to 14000+, lift the rear wheels, and not break anything. You probably didnt damage anything at all, seeing as several honda engines have redlines at or near 9000rpm. Why dont you have a fuel limiter?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge(still learning alot). When I got my car tuned, I stopped making power at 8600 rpms and I think he said my rev limit is 9k. No since in going that high if i dont make power there. So if my limit is in fact 9k, and i rev'd to around 9500 in neutral, is it norm. for my cel to flash?

I did the same thing in my B16 EG hatch. Missed 2nd trying to show off for a coworker lol.
My car was fine for like 3 months after that, I sold the car, and the kid blew the B16 tranny w Quaife LSD... So yeah, you're fine
