your right my trunk area had nothing when i gutted it. I lifted up the carpet and have some material on the floorboards in front of the rear seat and up front. Anyone know how much that mat behind the dash weighs? If its not that much of a pain i might rip it out.
we are the blessed ones without the cursed tarlike substance covering the innards of our car's skeletons. I did hear rumors though of some **** under the front carpets though.
yep..there is some under the front carpet. When I pulled my carpet out, the sound deadening was attatched to the carpet itself and not the metal floor board.

Yes! two pices under the carpet up front. Under drivers and pasangers feet. Also a thick mat lining the fire wall.
Yes it does.
In the front floorboards there is tar that covers about the entire floorboard areas up front.
Worth stripping it out?
Probably NOT. Can't weigh more than 10lbs.
It's up to you though.

I have a '92 CX and I took out the sound deadening material (tar) in the passenger/driver floorboards and it weighed a whopping.................5 lbs.
I spent a few bucks on dry ice and a couple of hours removing it.
My advice...drive around with a 1/4 tank of gas and take a dump before you get in. That will save more than 5 pounds.
But, if you do feel like removing it dry ice is the way to go.
However, the sound deadening mat between the dash and fire wall weighs about 15 lbs.
Good luck.
