Default turn signal / side marker issue

Integra 1998 LS

I tried searching on here and team-integra and couldnt find a solution to get my turn signals to work again. It all started after i installed my new disc brakes in the front and took the car for a test drive. I had forgot to tie up the side marker turn signal wires back to the fender well so the tire had tore the wire out where i spliced it at the bumper turn signal.Dumb I know.

The hazards and the turn signals had completely stopped working. I checked the hazard fuse in the engine bay and it had popped so i replaced that and the hazards are working again. I then bought another flasher/relay for my turn signals but still no response from turn signals. My friends dad told me there was a switch for the turn signals but im not sure where that is. Could that be the solution and if so could anyone tell me where the location of it is?

thanks in advanced.

--- Since you did some splicing, i would consider you rechecking your wiring. Also, make sure the ends of the wires that go to the plugs are still secure. If your tire was pulling on them, might have done something mean to them. If i remember correctly, there should be green, black, red. They will work as long as the green and red are hooked up. So double check the connections, and your splicing job. If it's not that check to see if it popped the fuse again, if it did. you got a short somewhere. Idk what the elder one means by switch. Maybe a relay of some kind.

I still consider rechecking all your wiring. Since the problem happened while the wires got tugged on, kinda pushing me to think it has to deal with that. Also check bulbs and double check connections.

--- Do your blinks blink faster than normal? ---

--- LOL, i didn't notice how stupid i just sounded by saying that haha. Oh well.

im going to re-do all my wiring again with heat shrink wrap as well tomorrow. Is there a fuse for the turn signals? I thought there was only the relay. The car didnt come with the pull down thing for the fuse box in the cabin so im kinda lost in that area. Im a big noob when it comes to fuses and such. If there is a short how does one find its location? The blinkers did flash fast before but that was because my bulbs went out and i had taken them out. I wasnt a running a bulb in either side at the time of the accident.

your EK is rediculously sweet btw

--- Shrink wrap would be the best, and i would think there is only a fuse for the relay. If there is a short, the way you know is...... fuse pops :D. How would you find the short? Find out what fuse is popping, and what it does. Go from there check ALL wiring.

And now, CURRENTLY. Your blinkers are at normal speeds when activated? 4 way lights work from the outside and no blinkers? Or No 4way and no blinker?

Ima walk out in my car and snap a picture for you of the fuse box. BrB! :D

hmm is this off your RS? Arent the fuse box layouts for OBD1 cars different then the OBD2 cars? I think i found that out when i was searching for the solution for my problem. If not should i check the 10a fuse for the turn light? 4 way lights work but blinkers dont work what so ever. Im going to buy new bulbs for bump turn signals tomorrow as well. thanks for the help

--- That is from my RS, i didn't take notice you had a 98. I will try and find another shot of someone elses box. I forgot i could do that before i ran to my car lol.

EDIT:

I looked on ebay, i wouldn't quote them or anything. This is what some were advertised under, so maybe/possibly they are the same.

--- Or am i missing something???? ALSO, it was the interior cover that was shown, idk why it says underhood.

I'm going to replace the hazard switch on Tuesday once the salvage yards open back up Where is relay on the fuse box, the one on the far left hand side or the one in the middle?

About middle of it.

I wish I had a clear pic of it.

--- Check that relay, and the switch they were tAlking about was just the switch itself.

hmmm that makes me think. Is there a difference between the wiring/ fuse lay out for obd2a and obd2b? I may be mistaken but I think 96 - 97? obd2a and 98-01 obd2b? Or was it 96 - 99 obd2a and 00-01 = obd2b....ah crap I can't remember....

did u check alllll the fuses in the fusebox? get a test light and double check all of the fuses.. if not, idk what to say.. cause when my turn signal went out.. i had to replace someother fuse that had nothing to do with it.. then it started working again.. dont know why

it was the tail light, instrument light, license light fuse i believe.

GENIOUS! well i redid all the wiring for my sidemarkers and turn signals the legit way with shrink wrap and checked every single fuse thats on the car. I found a blown 10a fuse in the cabin fuse box which i replaced. Since i dont have the panal that tells me what the fuses im not sure what i switched out but the turns signals and sidemarkers are now workings. im so glad it was an easy fix.

thanks Mfoehrkolb & imsickofrice
