Default 400lb max load limit?

I was flipping through my owners manual when I noticed something interesting. The maximum load limit including all occupants, cargo, and accessories is 400lbs.. I did the math and have come up with another reason not to date fat girls.

lol true enough, but when the ladies I go for are all 5'9" and taller they'd look anorexic if they were much below 130 nevermind those with *ahem* larger assets

well, not just that alone, if you get your g/f or wife knocked uo, she won't be riding s i guess.

a while back, when i weighed like 175ish friend of mine was pretty big (6'3").
he had m3 at that time and wanted to buy s2k but never been in s2k before and asked me to give him a ride.

him: "can you give me a quick spin in your car?"
me: "how much you weigh?"
him: "225ish? why?"
me: "no, b/c my car can only take upto 400lbs. me+you=over weight limit"
him: "you are a ********. it's only over by couple pounds at most"
me: "go buy one and do it yourself. i'm not going over the limit!!!"

he wasn't really close with me in the first place, but never talked to him again after that.

however, on other instance, i carried 2 cute/hot girls with me in my 2 seater
i know it's rude to ask girl's weight, but i asked and i had about 20lb left. this was after i lost weight tho, i was like 150ish when this happened

btw, i'd suggest never try to go over or close to max limit.

i normally drive myself 150~160ish or with my gf (110ish)
car feels definetly different from 160ish to 270ish and 380ish.
when it was at like 380, you can feel the car dragging and under powered

^^^ ok you are retarded. i have drivin my s2k with me (6'3" 230) and my friend (6' 240) a few times, it is not that bad and i didn't feel that much of a difference.

and if your so concerned about going over your weight limit, then you need to get a life and stop using your car to look cool... "i'm not going over the limit"......

hey jackass, did i ever mention about being cool? no
when the expletive did i say i used my car to look cool?
if he had shitbox car and i was bring jackass, it'd be different story.
but he had clean e36 m3. besides, him being overweight isn't my fault or my problem.
and if you can't feel the difference of weight in the car 160 vs. 380, i think you are retarded.
oh wait, you'll never know what it feels like at 160 cuz you are 230. STFU & GTFO!!!

the reason why i don't go over max limit is due to lesson i learned when i had R.
max limit on R is 600. you think you can carry 4 passenger including you? no.
i never heard clinking sound from R until i put 3 more passenger in my car.
we were all about equal weight so 160*4 = 640
can you drive your car over the weight limit? yes.
will it perform and be safe as it was intended/designed? no

it's your car and you can do whatever the expletive you want.
if you want to go over the limit, thats you, not me

I have to sort of agree with ya bro...

I'm 6'4" 240, and one of my buddies is also 6'4" but around 260 - driven him around a few times..

Now, obviously with any 4-cylinder car you're going to feel a difference in hundreds of pounds more weight but the car wasn't 'that' much slower with both of us.

'that' much could mean a lot or little depending on the person.
if it didn't mean that much, i wonder why honda try to put their cars on diet.

just to let you know, according to best motoring video that had jdm type-s on it,
gan-san(crazy old man) driving type-s cut ap2's time by nearly 3 seconds.

yuo can argue that it had different tires on it, but guess what?
only cr comes with RE070, not type-s it's still RE050.
oh, btw, type-s have 245 rears unlike cr's 255.
also, cr's suspension is setup towards track driving, but type-s is setup for mountain/backroad driving.
so track ready suspension idea goes out the window too.
that 100lb did contribute to the time

Shouldn't be giving your girl a ride in the S if she was pregnant in the first place. That should be the last resort if you're trying to get her to the hospital ASAP.

You hit the nail on the head bro - remember I'm 6'4" 240lbs...gotta have a taller girl around to make me not look like such a big fatass (keep in mind I was 170 just prior to hookin up with my gf about 1.5 years ago).

Oh I'm not talkin about track driving - just cruising around on the street. Trust me, when I hit up the track or strip NOBODY rides with me and I don't eat that day.

i'm not attacking you or anything. but even on the streets, do you not feel that carrying extra 250lbs doesn't affect your car?
whether on the track or street, if you are a sensitive driver you should feel it.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 91jdmhatchback &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">^^^ ok you are retarded. i have drivin my s2k with me (6'3" 230) and my friend (6' 240) a few times, it is not that bad and i didn't feel that much of a difference.

according to this jackass, that extra luggage doesn't mean anything.
like i said, <U>'that'</U> could mean a lot or little depending on the person's standards.

you should know that our tiny little cars were designed and tested by small short skinny asian/japanese guys.
even that, on european cars, how many test drivers do you see with excess fat/muscle?

i believe even tho max limit is at certain #, i bet that # isn't at 100% critical limit, rather it's set at 80% or so that when people do go over, it's still safe.
will it behave or act like it was intended? no.
will it get job done with granny driving? yes.

tell me that you drive like granny and i'll agree with you it doesn't change/feel jack ****.
how many of us drive like that tho?
many if not all of us enjoy spirited driving

I never said that I didn't feel it - not even what you quoted from me. I said that it's not 'that' bad.

By 'that bad' I mean to say that the car doesn't feel like I'm driving mum's Corolla in power, that I have to mash the brakes to stop in time, or that I'm driving a Cadillac around corners.

Obviously it's not going to accelerate nearly as quickly, brake nearly as quickly, or turn quite so sharp...but it doesn't feel like a completely different car either - just a little heavier. I can only guess that the main reason is the rather low gearing which keeps optimum power on tap nearly all the time.

isn't that why he moved to an EVO? None of the girls he picked up could fit in the S, over the weight limit
