Default Random beeping

I was driving home today and out of the blue I start hearing a beeping sound. It went off but would randomly come back on, it sounded like it was coming from the place above the rear view mirror where it tells you which seat belt isn't hooked up (the red lights). It didn't continuously do it and it never lasted the same duration; it just seemed completely random.

No CEL
89 crx si

That's about it, doesn't do it at any certain times really just whenever it feels like it I reckon.

Anyways, is it a short in a wire or has this happened to anyone else? Car has 202k miles on it.

Thanks

Does the horn work?
If not, check the horn/stop fuse underneath the hood..

I've actually had a problem with the horn. Everytime I honked it I'd blow that fuse. I had it fixed but it sounds like only one of the 2 "horns" behind the front bumper actually work I reckon I'll look at it again, I fixed a short in the horn and it works but maybe not 100%.

Thanks

LOL, Guys if you look behing the center console near the back of your radio..you will see a gray box with a clip. Remove the clip from the box and your annoying seat belt noise problems are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Beeping!, Where in the hell is the tweeter/speaker/beeper whatever you would like to call it located...The one that is generally located behind the steering wheel? i have pin pointed it up in that area. But still have yet to find it...I believe its interlaced with the fuse box???I about to rip my dash out to find it. More details-Its the defualt beeper when you leave the key in the ignition or door opened. Thanks -1990 crx si /2nd-Gen.

There is a correct way to fix this. I need shematics for the entire beeper circuit. It wouldnt be hard to find if there is schematics for the ICU circuit board and all other boards in the car. All we need to do if find the beeper on schematic, see what switches trigger it , isolate them and then start inspecting all other wiring , including connectors, possible trace damage on circuit boards (in ICU ?) or cold solder joints. Or if it is a timer chip that pulses the beeper they may go bad or have bad solder joints or faulty DIP sockets.

Sounds like your seatbelt warning. Next time, put your seatbelt on, then start the car. Bet it doesnt beep.
