Default Clutch Pedal/Master Cylinder problem

I recently received a pedal assembly for my auto to manual conversion on my 93 civic hatch, I believe I have installed the pedal correctly, but when I go to depress the clutch it is rock solid. The previous owner detached the pedal at the master cylinder instead of by the cotterpin and retaining pin. Here is a quick picture:

basically just imagine that black rubber boot isn't there and on the inside of that it looks like a ball socket. On the master cylinder there is a round "socket" and on the pedal side it is shaped like a ball. My question is, is there anything i can do to maybe press it back in? because that's why I think the clutch isn't depressing as it should. Sorry for the essay, any help is appreciated.

Im kind of confused at your question. Are you talking about inside the master cylinder? I dont believe its connected like a ball joint. What you could do is crack open the slave cylinder and press it, that should revlieve any built up pressure. I think it might be seized though.

Maybe to clarify, basically the stem that connects to the pedal was separated from the master cylinder, he said he pried it out. I'll try and get better pictures of what i'm talking about, been kinda busy lately. My buddy who I got the pedals from said that they worked perfectly before, so it could possibly be a pressure build up, I just hope it's not seized
