Just looking for a b18a out of a 93 ls to 92 civic swap guide I've looked all over and can't seem to find one also, whats the differences between the b18a and b18b1?

 

i believe b18a has cable tranny and b18b has hydro tranny. one is obd0 . one is obd1

just ignore all the vtec parts...

Along with the tranny differences, focusing on the engines themselves, B18a1 vs b1 is just an obd and generation difference ~ obd0 in the a1 and obd1&2 in the b1.
Other than that theyre the same thing.
A's have slightly smaller ports on the head, than B's do...but nothing that significant.

There are b16a1,2,3...in the end it comes down the generation and very slight variation in compression and cams...think of that in the same way with the ls engine

 

Okay cool thanks for the link....what would be the best tranny to run with the b18a1? It came with a YS1, people tell me to sell it others think i should keep it...and just to edit I have a 94 if that makes a difference in swaping...

 

I thought the a1 also comes in a obd 1 ! I have an a1 right now in my garage that is obd 1! Or I'm I wrong here?
