Default B16, Idles at 4200 rpm's and stays there on start up

Just started the engine for the first time yesterday, and it revs to 4200 and stays there. I dont have vtec or knock sensors hooked up, and my vacume lines are good. I dont get my throttle cable untill Friday so its not hooked up. I searched and couldn't find anything?

Timing is not set right. I am sure! one tooth or two I bet is off. Buy a timing light and watch it. It is not within 1-3 degree in spec.

take your fitv valve out and take it apart and screw the white thing inside toghether. Mine came apart inside which caused my car to idle at 3k.

I talked to a Honda mechanic, and he said even if the timing belt is off a tooth or two, it shouldn't make it idle that high.

spray carb cleaner around all the intake gaskets, really soak them. if the idle changes you have a leak. also make sure you have the brake booster line hooked up with the one way valve on the right way

Was the tps sensor replaced during the swap (common to be broken on imported engines)? You should check the voltage of the middle wire on the tps sensor plug. At warm idle it should read 0.5 volts. A friend's H22 accord had it replaced and it was idling at 3000rpm. The TPS was reading over 2volts on the meter. It's worth a check since it takes a few minutes to do.
