Default mounting Hella 500's

ok. i have a set of hella 500 with relay and wires. just no switch.

no worries though becuase i want to use my high beams as the hella lights.

this is going on a 97 civic.

i have HIDs wired as my low beams so when i flick my high beams on the low beams cut out and there is no light (again, because currently there are no high beams).

my Q is can i just run the - to ground, and the + to the high beam wire? or do i need to use the hella relay. i figured since the stock high beams are already on relay i wouldnt need to.

let me know because it would be quick and easy if i could just use stock high beam setup.

thanks

The factory wiring doesn't handle loads well and since you've already have the relay it's really simple, install the units and wire them up to the relay as normal then connect the 86 (or 85 depending on how the relay is wired) to the high beam positive feed one one of the head light sockets. This will act as the switch as well and make trouble shooting issues that may come up alot easier...
