Ive got a 97 Prelude with a complete exhaust, header to tailpipe and a Magnaflow muffler. Its way loud compaired to stock. Some of my friends wont even ride up the ski hill with me cause is reverbs in your head while going uphill. Im sure there are different models, but mine is loud.

I used to run a HyTech Header w/ 2.5" piping, a straight-pipe, a 22" resonator, and a 2.5" Magnaflow exhaust on an H22A Civic. The piping overall is probably a little bit shorter, but it was way loud, even with a 22" resonator.
It was nice and deep, but for sure over 96db in VTEC.
I was looking for a quiet setup, so I made a custom axleback with a OEM-type muffler. It was much quieter, but it also made me lose some HP.

I looked around for a quieter muffler but everywhere I went I got the same story, "Its gonna slow you down" so I decided to live with it. Fortunately in my part of the country the police dont get uptight about noise levels, to much. Sounds like that may be what you are dealing with.
Maganflow mufflers are way too loud when you have straight pipe, no cat, no resonator, high-flow cat. But if you have all your stock piping, stock cat, and stock resonator it's not as loud. It sounds nice. It has a low deep tone.
