Default Trunk leak

I am experiencing a large amount of water getting into my trunk, mostly around the spare tire area, where a puddle gathers. I have been experiencing with a leak in tail lights and thats where i think the water is entering my trunk. Is there something I can get or do to fix this?? A new trunk lining strip, or to see if the trunk lid closes correctly... I have an amp back there and im trying to add a subwoofer back there so I dont want to jeopardize messing up my system as well.
