Default mpfi swap, now throwing tps? wf?

well, ive been battling with this car since the begining and tonight ifinally ran. last week it wouldnt stay running and i threw code 7 for tps. so i figured i had might as well replace it. i install it and it runs. put as soon as i touch the gas pedal it wants to die unlessyou let off, and im still throwing tps!. i double checked my wiring ad it seems fine. and yes i did sw the wires for the tps as well. am i mssing something here? why would i still hrow tps? a friend said its probably a bad ground but i have msive grounds all over the bay and the one othe water neck has been cleaned and retightened.
soneplease help, i havent had a car for 2 weeks since my other car isnt really ment for sowy roads

Did you test the tps with a multimeter? You can't just throw one on and be done. You have to skin back the insulation a little on the red wire, put the red lead from the multimeter on it, and the black to a good ground. You should get .45 volts at closed throttle and 4.5 volts at wide open throttle. If not, loosen the screws a little and move it until you get the required values.

Hope this helps, I'm having a tps code also, and have tried everything to no avail.

---I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM----
TPS this
TPS that.

what it was on my car what the wires on the ECU
(the wire look and test fine but on the inside of the wires
were rotted)

YOU CANT TELL BY LOOKING AT IT TURST ME.
my wires were rotted right next to the ecu i had to replace the
little pins inside the ecu clips. it was really hard getting the little pins out of the clip.

ecu pin out on obd-0 cars.
TPS Signal = C7
TPS 5V = C13
TPS GND = C12

obd1 cars.
tps signal= D11
tps 5v =D20
tps gnd =D22

good luck

we had code 20 and the way we fixed it was change both fuse boxs manily the one under the hood.
code 20 is the eletrical load.

did you even changed the wires in the ecu clips
and adjust your tps if you havent done that yet.

i will try adjusting it again. i ended up running wires straight off the ecu to the tps and still throwing the code. hopefully adjusting it will work.
