adding type s pistons will increase your CR, so yes there will be an increase in power. (thats assuming you have a USDM engine)

It will help even if he has a JDM lump, and yes rings are the same.

Type S CR 11:1
JDM CR 10.6:1
USDM CR 10:1

Yeah its a JDM block...... is it really worth it cus i know that with aftermarket pistons you will have to sleeve the block and thats just to much money, plus you guys think that the jdm block with type s pistons will be enough compression with the Crower 3 cams or should i go with the Crower 2's???? thanks guys

If i could go back and start my build over again i would have left the bottom end alone and just used a thinner head gasket/milled head and high comp valves to bump my CR just for the fact that it would be on the road by now. If your block is in good condition its not worth ripping your bottom end apart just for a .4 increase in CR IMO

On the cam side, what does Crower suggest?

Basically i mean if your motor is running well at the moment i wouldn't rip the bottom end apart just for a .4 increase.

If it was me i would spend the money on a good head build, custom header, and most importantly a good tune. Make sure you do lots of research aswell. I've bought and sold a couple of grands worth of stuff during my build which i wouldnt have had to do if i had been patient and spent more time researching in the first place.

Theres some great info in the FAQ thread

i'll have to agree with hybrid2007, i've done my research and there really isn't a point to take apart your bottom end if it still runs good...but definitely a good head build i.e. valvetrain, cams, etc. and a good tune is probably the best way to go
