Default sohc zc head gasket

so started my car today and the idle was rough and would missfire up untill like 3000rpm and even then it would still miss fire a bit. a couple weeksago this happened but only for a few minutes then it was fine untill now. i suspected it was the head gasket but didnt want to think about it at the time. theres white smoke but not alot. iv blown a head gasket before and there was alot more smoke than this time. but im pretty sure its the head gasket

so my question is and iv searched this but cant find a straight answer.
i want to use the y8 triple layer metal gasket because it will raise my compression a little.. but i read that if you raise the compression the timing will be off because the deck is lower now and you have to use an adjustable cam gear. is this true? but i also read that the y8 gasket will only raise the compression if you take out one of the layers. i couldnt find any clear answers to this by searching.

lol wow fixed this a long time ago.. turned out to be the valve cover gasket leaking into the spark plug tubes. problem was fixed.
